Toni R. Lindgren


Toni R. Lindgren, 54, Virginia, formerly of Angora, passed away at home on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.


She was born on March 24, 1961 in Cook. She was adopted by Walfred and Altha Ojanen, and grew up in Angora with the Ojanen family. She had attended the Cook school.  Toni was known as a “free spirit” to her family and many friends.  She was a member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa.  Toni had lived in Virginia for many years and was skilled at crocheting, knitting and baking.  Earlier she enjoyed working in her vegetable gardens. She courageously battled  her health concerns.


She is preceded in death by her adoptive  father, Walfred Ojanen; siblings: Ellen Nordlinder, Wanda Maki and Brett “Biff” Robertson;


Toni is survived by her adoptive mother, Altha Ojanen of Angora; siblings, Carolyn (Joe) Nordlinder of Britt, Keith Ojanen of Angora, Willard (Carol) Ojanen of WA, LuAnn Drift and Roberta Drift, both of Nett Lake, Nadine Luecken of Gheen, Laura (David) Manuel of Red Lake, MN and Kay (Curtis) Palmer of Indian Point-Orr;  dear friend Lea  Frost of Biwabik, along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.


SERVICES:  Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM  Tuesday (Nov. 10th) at Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook, where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Rev. Kevin Land will be the officiant.  Lea Frost will be the honorary bearer. A reception in Toni’s honor will follow at the Cook VFW.  Interment will be held later in the Bois Forte Cemetery near Nett Lake.  Arrangements are with Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.  To sign the online guest book, or send a condolence to the family, go to:
