Peter Pete, age 58 of Tower died Monday, December 15, 2008 in St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth. He was born June 19, 1950 in Isabella, MN the son of Peter and Margaret (Kadub) Pete, Sr. and was a longtime resident of the Bois Forte Reservation – Tower, MN. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War who was honorably discharged in 1971; and was very active with POW – MIA. Peter was employed as an outside maintenance person by Fortune Bay Casino. He loved the outdoors, and socializing. Peter was an avid reader, enjoyed joking around, and had a caring, giving heart. He placed the needs of others above himself.

     Peter is survived by children: Donna Norton of Duluth, Peter Deegan of Virginia, Juanita Deegan of Mpls., Anya (Josh) Pete of Virginia, Margaret Pete of Tower, Kyle (Nina) Chosa of Nett Lake; sister, Gloria Boshey of Tower; brother, Steve Pete; 12 grandchildren; and many friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald Pete; and sisters, Sally Chambers, Julia Miller, and Norma, Brenda, & Linda Pete.

     Visitation will begin Friday, December 19th at 6 p.m. in the Vermilion Wellness Center at the Bois Forte Reservation – Tower, MN. Visitation will continue until the 10 a.m. Tribal Rites on Saturday, December 20th in the Wellness Center. Burial will follow in the Bois Forte Vermilion Cemetery.
