Gloria A. Boshey
Gloria A. Boshey, 69, Vermilion Reservation-Tower, passed away at her residence on Thursday, January 7, 2010, with her family at her bedside.
She was born on April 18, 1940, at Cook to Peter Sr. and Margaret (Kahdub) Pete.
She grew up at the Vermilion Reservation where she lived most of her life. For several years she lived in the cities and was employed as a house keeper. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, was a very good cook, an avid bingo player and liked blue berry picking.
She was also a cook for the elders at Vermilion. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her special friend, Dan Hatfield of Tower,; 4 sons: Gary (Chris) Boshey, Dale Boshey and Steve Boshey, all of Tower and Keith Boshey of Duluth; 1 daughter, Cindy (Vern) Adams of Eveleth; 1 brother, Steve Pete in Nebraska; 29 Grandchildren, 49 Great Grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many other special relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 sons, Terrence and Jeff Boshey; 2 brothers, Gerald Pete and Peter Pete Jr.; and 5 sisters, Sally Chambers, Julie Miller, Norma Pete, Brenda Pete and Linda Pete.
SERVICES: Traditional Tribal Services were held at 10:00 AM Sunday (Jan. 10th) at the Vermilion Reservation Wellness Center of Tower. Billy Blackwell was the spiritual advisor. Visitation was after 5:00 PM Saturday at the center. Interment was in the Vermilion Cemetery of Tower. Arrangements were with the Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook.
