Editor’s Note: the Elders have requested we print the minutes of their monthly meetings. Last month we printed the August minutes. There was no meeting in September. Here are the mintues from the October 10 meeting at the Nett Lake Community Center.

Meeting called to order at 11:30 a.m. by Chair Jerome Whitman.

Discussion on Tribal Government issues such as spending, hiring and terminations, employees not being at their workplace when you try to contact them.  Employee parties on site quite often, one or any member not attending regular elder meeting each month, cutting programs.

Minutes of August 8, 2011 meeting tabled until November meeting.

Due to elderly budget cuts, bingo and concerts will be discontinued until further notice.

Theresa Drift would like all elders’ trip attendees to get all there paperwork in.

Jim Morrison, addition to the travel assistant list, others are Mike, Pam Hughes, Theresa Drift, Jackie Wilson (unable to go) Alternate: Vanessa Little and Dave Morrison Jr.

Discussion – there is black water at the Assistant Living Center, and also old ball field area.

Discussion was held on Jerome Whiteman – leave of absence from elders’ committee. Motion made by Justin Boness to approve leave of absence from elders’ committee, second by Rose Lien. Motion carried.  Motion made by Marilyn Geshick to approve Vice Chair Justin Boness to sign checks well chair is on leave, second by Rose Lien. Motion carried.

Quarterly elder/RTG meeting will be held after elder trip is over.

Motion made by Justin to adjourn at 12:55 p.m., second by Mary Strong. Motion carried.

Next meeting is scheduled, November 7, 2011 in Tower.
