Homeless Prevention for Renters

in Foreclosure

Monday, November 2nd was the official start date for St. Stephen’s new HPRP program aimed at homelessness prevention for renters in foreclosure.

The program will serve households, both families and single adults without children, who are at risk of becoming homeless due to foreclosure on their rental units. 

The program can provide:

short-term rental assistance,

security deposit assistance,

utility assistance,

help with relocation, and

moving costs. 

The program does not serve homeowners.  There is a focus on Minneapolis, but we can serve all of Hennepin County.

REFERRAL PROCESS:  All clients must be referred through Legal Aid-Clients/Renters in foreclosed properties seeking assistance should contact Dawn Smith at Legal Aid: 612-746-3625
