Bois Forte Elders Meeting

Meeting called to order at 11:35 am by Vice-Chair Justin Boness

Roll Call: Justin Boness, Marcella Connor, Marilyn Geshick, Mary Strong, Jerome Whiteman is on his way.

Per Capita checks will be mailed August 12, 2011 as stated on the website.

Bill Isham and Chris Holm were here to discuss and give information on Ricing. DNR is working on mapping of areas that will be harvested. Worm and bug problem is huge. They are working on limiting this problem if possible.

Elders are concerned about a situation involving enrollment requirements; this will be presented to RTG.

Elders who attended the Immersion Camp at Vermilion were concerned about how the camp was conducted by non-band members and Christian Persons.  The Elders felt the camp was hurried and not culture related.  This will be taken up with the RTG.

Elders trip to Grand Canyon by Theresa Drift, aides are being selected and who needs oxygen should be worked out with their doctor. Theresa will check with the airline.

Upcoming Mille Lacs visit information was presented and how Nett Lake would welcome and feast.

Motion made by Rose Lien to adjourn meeting at 1:35, seconded by Gloria Drift. Motion carried

Jerome would like to discuss his Chairperson position. He may step down at next meeting.
