Declaration of “Stay Safe, Stay Home” Order
On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, the Bois Forte Tribal Council adopted the “Stay Safe, Stay Home” order. This order has been set in place to preserve the public health and safety, and to ensure that healthcare systems are capable of serving all in need, especially those at high risk and vulnerable to COVID-19, all individuals within the territorial boundaries of the Bois Forte Reservation are under a GENERAL STAY-AT-HOME ORDER and are directed to stay at home unless performing an essential activity.
Essential activity that allows you to leave your home:
- Obtaining food, medicine, and other similar goods necessary for the individual or family member, provided that no more than one member of a household is engaging in this activity at a given time.
- Obtaining non-elective medical care and treatment and other similar vital services for an individual or a family member.
- Going to and from an individual’s workplace to perform job duties, unless the individual works for a division or subdivision of the Bois Forte Tribal Government that has been temporarily closed due to the pandemic.
- Engaging in outdoor activity, provided individuals maintain social distancing of six feet from one another and do not congregate in groups of 10 or more people.
“Stay Safe, Stay Home” order takes effect on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 4:30 p.m. and will remain in effect until otherwise directed by the Tribal Council.
