Governor Walz signed an Executive Order 20-02 earlier this morning authorizing the temporary closure of K-12 public schools. These facilies will be closed temporarily beginning Wednesday, March 18th through Friday, March 27th. This will allow school administrators and educators time to plan and implement mitigation strategies. In addition to the temporary closures of Minnesota public schools they are required to provide childcare for the elementary age children of essential personnel i.e. health care workers, first responders, and other emergency workers. The Executive Order mandate schools will continue to provide meals to students. Governor Walz also stated during the live press briefing this morning, that frontline staff such as bus drivers and cooks are to be included in the planning process - keeping actions of the Executive Order on track.

The Bois Forte Tribal Government will continue assessing our response to this ever-changing situation and that the health and safety of our people and community is a priority.
